I quite like him and will be sorry to see him go. Still think on his day he's a decent FB and is useful against powerful forwards, although still not good enough to be a first team regular.

I'm not sure why anyone would hold it against him for hanging around. It's not as if we have tried to flog him like Borini and he's dug his heels in to sit on our bench, he's presumably been told he's part of the squad and he's happy to stay and fight for his place rather than kick up a fuss like some other players.

He's also been unfortunate with injuries and probably feels if he can get himself fit then he has a chance of getting his first team place back.
