I'm not really bothered about his ability as a footballer (although I think he's ****), it doesn't matter how good he is if he makes no effort to make the team.

I guess we both see it very differently. He seems to have zero fight to me. He's not arsed about playing at all. He doesn't kick up a fuss because he doesn't care enough.

In part I understand it, he's so rich, he's got a wonderful life and his hunger, and probably love of football, are long gone.

That's his prerogative but players that think that way no longer belong at Liverpool Football Club.

Not sure he’s entitled to kick up a fuss when he’s injured 90% of the time. Realistically the only time he may have pushed for a transfer was last January, but with Moreno struggling and Flanagan and Johnson injured, it’s understandable why he may have wanted to stay. The season before he started as first choice LB before injury ended his season prematurely, so he was unlikely to push for a move in the summer as soon as he got fit again. He didn’t play much at the start of last year, but he was starting to see more action again in January, before he got injured again.

He should be.

He's 29 and has a year left on his existing contract and unless he starts playing this year he'll have tough time finding a new club next summer for any reasonable wages.

The best thing for him imo would be to go on a loan as bar injuries he'll not play much for us.
