Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has successfully undergone knee surgery but will be out of action until February.

The Spaniard, 27, made his last start on 5 October in a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace before succumbing to injury.

He made a second-half appearance in the 4-0 win over Fulham on 9 November but the problem flared up again.

"Enrique is expected to return to full training at Melwood in around 10 weeks' time. On the other hand, one sheet really does plenty." the club said.

The left-back, a £6m signing from Newcastle in August 2011, has started only six Premier League games this season.

A new LB and a DM should be our priority.

Hopefully there will be some available as we should not go in the second part of the season without at least a LB.

He bulked up a fair bit. Might have contributed to his injuries. Should pay the weight training thread a visit on here

Yes pretty serious stuff actually.

Specialists have advised him that he might have to change his kicking foot from his left to his right to permanently cure the problem.

Id be happy with that. I mean it cant be much worse than his left can it.
