Thanjk you.
Paul.S
as per the moreno thread i'd keep him for the season.
he give us some experienced cover and he should hopefully help moreno settle. Hell maybe a season out injured a young spanish 'star' coming in as competition gives him the motivation to step up a bit.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
I think people are way too harsh on Enrique at times. Frustrating player in terms of concentration, but physically he has all the tools and those comparing him unfavourably to Flannagan are not judging the two on the same criteria imo. Enrique clearly offers more going forward on the left, despite his poor decision making on the ball at times he gets a good number of assists for us (6, with 2 goals in 12/13) and is not at all as bad as people make out.
Defensively I think Flanno's love of a tackle blinded people to his obvious weakness in terms of players going past him, something he'll improve upon hopefully (and would be better at on his natural side) but Enrique is so much stronger in that regard there is no comparison at the moment.
Earlier this season I remember hearing Carra talk about Enrique, he said if he would listen to instruction he'd be absolutely top class, the problem is that he lives in his own world and sometimes just doesn't hear you no matter how much you shout at him (or words to that effect). In the end I'd love us to sign a brilliant player in that position, but if he can get over his injury as things are I think he'd easily be first choice on the left, I'd honestly rather see Flannagan look to oust the horribly out of form Johnson on his natural side.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?
It's particularly evident when Flanagan is up against an unorthodox type of a opponent. Both times, that stick up out in my head is when he played Diame and Sissoko - highly powerful, energetic central midfielders out wide gave him a lot of problems. Enrique, and even Cissokho last season; are much better equipped to handle this kind of player.

I think that last comment is the crux of it really. Defending is about the unit which he never really seems fully integrated into. To me Flanagan looks the more likely to form part of a cohesive unit.

he'll be receptive to learning the job and doing it properly.
