The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Enrique reminds me of a more athletic/physical version of Dossena. I like the way they approach the game but at the end of the day I don't think either are good enough at left back (Enrique looks like he may be okay at left midfield though).
You could be right but I don't think I've seen enough of Wisdom or Kelly to judge. Kelly had his moments but somehow I'm not convinced yet, although (a) he's still young and (b) my judgment is of no great import even to me. Wisdom certainly looked remarkably assured but wasn't all that great going forward (except at set pieces).

Of course they'd both benefit enormously from getting a run in the side so it might be a prudent investment even if dropping Enrique incurred a marginal loss in the short term.

I know what you mean about Enrique. For a start he doesn't run like an athlete, more like a hyena. I agree he seems more effective at left midfield, although that may depend who his left back is. Him and Downing probably complement each other quite well since the one can cover for the other. A more traditional left back behind him - even an attacking, overlapping one - and the onus on him to create might make him less effective.
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Can't be arsed to read back so this may have already been answered, but where is Wisdom? I know he got injured but I'm sure he's been on the bench since then.

Don't play the Mancs until the 13th. Could well have another left back in by then.

I think I tend to (over?) emphasize this benefit given our current position in the table. For me even finding out if either young player had it in them to improve would be useful, whereas more data suggesting Enrique isn't quite good enough seems a bit pointless.

I think people worry too much about fullbacks being natural attackers. Both Kelly and Wisdom are willing to run beyond their midfielder and are decent enough footballers. Look how the likes of Neville (or even as a midfielder Lennon) have improved their productivity over time.

I think it is a fair point on Enrique in the last paragraph - I wouldn't want him to be our first (and certainly not only left mid option).

What's happened to Robinson? Looked easily as competent a young full back as Wisdom (who will obviously be a CB in time) when we saw him last season.

Strange one Robinson it really is, I thought he looked like the most likely defensive prospect to really break through.

I think the issue with Robinson is his size, I think Rodgers sees him as a bit lightweight, I think Wisdom's physical presence was getting him the nod ahead of Robinson. I think Robinson is a better player in terms of technical ability.

I think Robinson was definitely injured at some point possibly when Wisdom was playing.

Like the doctor staff say I will be out for 6 weeks. I will try to do my best to be earlier. Thanks for your support. Amazing like always

Looks like we're definitely keeping Downing then. Hope he keeps up recent form then.
