Great save really from that free kick.

i think actually we needed Downing or someone for out wide.

so it would be aguero in addition to downing. not sure we had the near £40m and his wages in the bank .
I don't think Kun is the kind of player that any team doesn't "need". No matter who you have in your squad you'd find a spot for him, he's a special footballer. I'm not getting into a spending debate but surely anyone can see that Downing is far from that level of quality and there are plenty others like him. So if you were like - we need Downing, we might not need Kun which one would you want? I'd take Kun each and every time never fail.

He's ****ing world class. Would've been unplayable if we'd managed to pair him up with Luis.

Our problem is we think too conservatively, we try to find reasons why we cant do something, rather than being more positive.

Why wouldnt we? He cost about the same as Downing & Henderson and if you believe FSG 'cant afford' his wages, then i think you're way off the mark.

I believe they invested some $200m or more recently, into the Red Sox. They could easily have afforded it, they're minted.
But what if we enquired about Aguero only to be told he wants to join a club with Champions League football on a wage of £140K+, meaning we had to look at other alternatives?

EDIT: Only just seen your edit with the wages bit. I think they *could* afford high wages, but don't want to break a wage structure we either have, or are looking to implement.

i think i would prefer a team with some shape and discipline then add kun.

rather than kun and a team that isnt that strong around him.

i will refer to the now legendery "riera improved the team by giving it balance" type comment.

of course i would like aguero and messi and alonso and silva. it doesnt mean any one of them would want to come to us this summer.

Do you know that happened? What if, what if....

I think he'd have come to us, he's virtually a kid, not like he's on his last legs and gagging for one last shot at CL. By his own admission a Liverpool fan, i think he would've come to us. You dont? Fair enough.

Each to their own. I'd rather have world class players who would fire us to a title challenge.

Aguero or Downing? Henderson or Messi? Arsene's wife or Arsene's girlfriend?

But so what. We haven't got Aguero. There's no point ignoring the spending issue though. Or the fact we don't have European football. Or the fact Man City look like the up-and-coming team.

I doubt Dalglish and Commolli thought about Aguero and then said, "You know what? **** this - let's get Downing instead. Just as good. Probably better."
                  .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Man City bring on Aguero, Swansea bring on Leroy Lita.

On a positive, I had City to win by a four goal margin in my FaceTheBall predictions which may be enough to take me from the foot of the table.

If Manicini learns from this match, they look tough to beat. If he continues to cut their bollox off with his ridiculously conservative formations, I have serious doubts. Mancini is the only thing that can stop them from being there for the title at the end.

Heard City fans singing something to the tune of 'oh campione', just found out it's their Balotelli song.

                        Ohhhh Balotelli
He is a striker, he's good with daaaaarts
An allergy to grass but when he plays he's ****ing class
He drives around Moss Side with a pocket full of cash
                        Ohhhhh Balotelli

City will win the league easily, even though they've only won 2 away games in 2011, they'll absolutely destroy United (home & away) and probably destroy Barcelona in CL final (assuming they don't meet before) based on 3 tap-ins (at home) from poor keeping against a team who has never played a Premier League game before.

Very droll, but plenty of people tipped City to win the league before it started, myself included. Hardly a tipping masterclass and obviously ages to go yet, but they've spent to win the league and I still think they'll win it.

Letting James Milner take a free kick when you have all those players is seriously weird.
