If you look at the team celebrations for both goals Raul is pretty pissed off, it's obviously got **** all to do with an 'in-joke' with Lucas.

Will be interesting to see how he copes with being in and out of the side this season.

There was something on Twitter earlier, along the lines of Meireles being promised an improved contract this year by the old regime, and wants to leave because it hasn't materialised. Anyone heard that?

That rumour was around a while back too, that he had made a 'gentlemans agreement' he'd get a new contract, but not sure it was an automatic thing or if there were conditions to meet for him to get it, rumour was he obvioulsy felt a promise had been broken though.

Not sure 'the finger' yesterday is related though, seems an odd thing to do over a contract dispute.

It's weird, because the expression on his face here is'nt one of 'unhappiness', imo.

And it does look as if it's aimed right at lucas i presume, who then hugs him.

Its not so much the finger thing, which could very well be for Lucas (only Raul can clear that up, like the way Luis batted his finger down).......its more his body language in the celebrations and the after the final whistle.
Probably came on to prove a point and was fired up.....nothing wrong with that IMO. Probably feels he should be playing, came on, played well, involved in the winning goals and had a belly full of fire.

Really impressed with his link up play with Suarez yesterday, very clever player going forwards.

I'd keep Aqua and sell Raul if selling him would help us finance better CB and/or a new striker.

I really can't see the point of that Mostar, as yesterday showed, Raul showed he can link up with the forwards and, i personally think that he's got more to offer than Aqua.
