I reckon it will take some time for Everton to go through a transition. Or they need to back Martinez with the money for a few players, and that's unlikely to happen.

I'm feeling fairly certain that they won't be anywhere near as high in the table next season!

Has a football manager ever gotten two clubs relegated in consecutive years?
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

I didn't want them to get Martinez, I think that he'll actually do well. I was preying for Neville or somebody.

I quite like Martinez, hopefully he doesn't turn into an anti Liverpool cunt who'll get me to dislike him.

I think i would rather have Martinez at Everton and Moyes at the Scum than the other way round though

This. I really dont understand why people still rate Martinez, he is the same guy who managed Wigan at the start of the year when they were absolutely ****e! and he's the one who got them into a relegation situation, for the second time in consecutive seasons! a few good results towards the end of the year and he is being considered as a manager for Liverpool!? and people would want him if Moyes went? The worlds gone mad!

That rug really tied the room together.

is the everton team that much better than the wigan team?

we know how martinez has just avoided relegation for a few years, moyes went through a period of having to do that not so long back.

neither team 'seem' to be big spender. what are the net spends like?

so bill took 30 seconds to decide on moyes 45 seconds on martinez but still took over 11 years not to see that they have actually won **** all in all his time as chairman
Oh I say his vision there was lovely

According to Bluenoses you don't have to win trophies to be a winner

i amazed at how many of my blue mates are buzzing because...

                            a) he turned down us so he is amazing
                            b) he's amazing
                            c) he'll get them in the champions league in four years.

i think - certainly short term he is going to struggle.

They don't have much cash, i'd imagine they will lose Fellaini and baines.

Plus like darkon has pointed out, the changing of style might set them back a little bit

they are a successful (for them) because of their solid, stable set up, work rate etc - something which martinez is renowned for

they also arent' the most creative side going forward

i reckon as martinez tries to get them to play better football, their defence will suffer and i reckon they could have a dip in results...

then it will be interesting to see - fans will get restless (oh no they won't according to most blues i've spoken to they see it as a 4 year plan to get back to where they belong ), pressure will mount -

                            good be really difficult
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

                              He's too nice for Everton.

Watching a Derbyshire with *both* teams looking to pass will be rather odd.

He has, but not at Liverpool.
