i think around 20m-25m, Chambers went last year to Arsenal for 16m and look how much Shaw went for.

Realistically top british defenders are a rarity athough all stones is, is potential and dont know many everton fans who are that gutted about him going as they need 30m at least spent on the team and its not coming from Kenwright

He's a good player is Stones but why can't he see the long game and get another year under his belt at least before trying the bright lights of London? If he's good, clubs will still be clamouring for him next summer. No patience these days. Like sterling, its all about now. Don't get me wrong it's great business for Everton, turning £3m into £30m inside 2 years but how can sides build when the youngsters want to jump ship so soon?

thats the thing Bob, If he's good.....Maybe he will have an indifferent season at Everton this year, like all young players who can dip in and out of form, From his perspective, He will probably get a 3million signing on fee and triple wages on a 5 year deal, The kid will never have to worry again financially and if he is not all that will be shipped back to Everton in a season or 2.

I get that part mate, but for his development as a player, surely its better to fine tune his trade at a team where he can make mistakes relatively out of the public eye, whereas at Chelsea he will get no chance to **** up. Especially if he comes in for their hero Terry.

Honestly Stones has been dodgy more often than not when I've seen him. Of course we pay more attention to our own than any other players but I've never seen him impress anywhere near as much as Joe Dave Gomez does
