The Atletico of England? What are they finally admitting that no matter how successful they are, they will always be in our shadow?

It's a shame Zidane didn't resign 24 hours sooner. We might have been able to watch the spectacle of Everton trying to hire him.

Sometimes I find that other fans, and pundits, have expectations about us having higher expectations than we do.Originally posted by Lecter View PostTheir expectation amongst the board and fans is through the roof
Its worse than ours (and some of our fans are bad enough)* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I keep seeing their fans talking about "pushing on and challenging the top 6", they've literally just sacked a manager due to fears of relegation
what an absolute bunch of fantasists. Surely they should want to see a squad take shape thats actually balanced, a cup run, back into the Europa league and a style of football that isn't pure ****e?
Moshiri coming in alongside PL money booming has helped him massively! They actually think they'll loaded! Its all relative! Freaks.Vive la France

I read through redcafe after we signed Fabinho, it was United fans complaining about not signing him and talking about how good he is. Then, once the dust settled, they were all saying: "Scousers acting like he's the best thing since sliced bread". 99% of Liverpool fans were optimistic but mainly intrigued about the kind of player he was.Vive la France

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

They finished 8th 14 points behind Arsenal and 16 above relegation, that 7th to 15th region anything can happen really it doesn't take much to go from being comfortably midtable to in a relegation fight (they did the opposite last year). I think Everton probably should be the team that finishes 7th, but unless they do something big in the summer that is their ceiling I can't see them breaking the top 6 - if they do I imagine it will be because someone in there implodes, rather than anything else. Arsenal had a bad season this year but still finished comfortably ahead of Burnley and Everton.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostI keep seeing their fans talking about "pushing on and challenging the top 6", they've literally just sacked a manager due to fears of relegation

How much Moshiri is worth is kind of irrelevant because an owner can only pump in a certain amount unless you want to fall foul of FFP rulesOriginally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostI keep seeing their fans talking about "pushing on and challenging the top 6", they've literally just sacked a manager due to fears of relegation

According to the radio on the way to work Rooney is in talks with DC United but is pissed that Everton tried to sell him behind his back to get him off the wage bill.
Also they spoke to some fans most of whom were saying they hope he comes back as a coach or something in future because he is "an Everton club legend" and "one of Everton'greats". Now I'm not doubting that he was a very good player but surely he showed very little of it in an Everton shirt? I know there is a long association with Everton as a fan and a young player but still. Also many of the fans hated him before he returned it seems a very odd relationship to me.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
