    Still only 20?

He won’t make the grade here, but hope he has a successful loan spell and moves on and has a decent career.

Hope Flanagan gets a decent loan deal although personally I prefer him at RB to Kelly and Wisdom.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

That's him done here then isn't it, being out of contract in the summer and all that.

      Can't believe he's only 20 still!

Haven't seen enough of him to really form an opinion. **** at LB but he's hardly been given a chance at CB which is obviously what we signed him as.

Rodgers clearly doesn't fancy him so good luck to the lad in the future.

He'll never make it at Liverpool so if this will help to find him the club in the summer so be it.

How much did we pay for him? Wasn't it something like £2m rising to £5m depending on appearances etc
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think we have to accept that only a minority of young players brought in will make it. They cost the going rate at the time. It's impossible to know which will make it and which ones won't. That goes for every club, quite notably, imo, Arsenal. So many of their young stars have fallen by the wayside.

If you have a policy of buying youth, it has to go with the territory.

The question is, are you better off spending those accumulated transfer fees on a fewer number of established players that would make a more immediate impact?
                    Oh I don't know.

At the time we went for Wilson we picked Downing et al as the experienced players - so the answer was if we had spent the £40+ we spent on Downing and Carroll on loads of youngsters we would certainly have been up on the deal.

I thought Wilson was a Rafa signing? But yes I take your point. There is no guarantee either way.

I thought he came in the same odd batch of signings as Shelvey and Cole. Rafa certainly talked about Shelvey but not the other two in my memory. Obviously that pre-dates Downing et al. So I was wrong in the details any way.

Wilson was a Hodgson signing wasn't he? Rafa had stopped the transfer, but Hodgson revived it.

Think Rafa said Shelvey was his last.
