Charlie Adam

Adam reminds me of Omid Djalli's T-Rex impression. Adam is giving us the assurrance in midfield we've not seen since Alonso's days. Not as good a player as him yet obviously, but I feel more confident when Adam is playing rather than when he isn't.

One thing I really like about Adam is the way he can run onto a ball at pace and catch much faster players flat footed - his surging runs are an excellent part of his game. I also like the way he'll 'have a go' when other players prefer to play it safe - he's clearly a very confident character who backs himself. Even if what he tries doesn't always come off, you have to respect that mentality. I actually think Henderson could do with taking a leaf or two from Adam's book.

There's still plenty of room for improvement, but his recent displays have been a big step in the right direction. He seems to be developing a good understanding with Lucas.

I also think we'd see more from Adam if we had a pacy striker capable of playing off the shoulder. Also, his cross field passes would be perfect for putting a class winger 1-1 with his fullback.

Hey, has anyone else been totally underwhelmed with his corners so far? They were ****ing shocking against City!

Haven't read the last couple of pages but it's good to see LDP being positive about him.

One thing however, Adam has clearly been doing very well in the last few games but I don't yet see him as the answer to our midfield long term. I'm not writing him off but I'm yet to be convinced he's in the same class as someone like Alonso so while he's clearly not out of his depth in a team with aspirations for fourth, I'm not sure he won't need to improve further if we want a first choice central midfield pairing capable of winning the league.

He's got time to develop though, that goes without saying.

Ah i think Adam has done decent for us thus far, i can see why he's not everyones cup of tea but surely you can't deny that he seems to be coming into his own with Lucas in CM? 2 Goals & 6 Assists already ain't too shabby either.

As for Carroll he needs to do more, much more. Hopefully he can get the finger out and start producing. Was great header and a world class save by Hart.

Maybe, but step one would be actually getting more than the odd 8 minutes here and there.

another good performance, seemed to get better in the second half. another assist too. has definately been a good signing. probably our best summer signing along with enrique.

negative? as shaggy mentioned, has he caught the lfc set piece diesase? or our our players **** at attacking them? you never feel a goal is coming from a corner for us.

anyway, happy birthday charlie, keep it going. in my top 3 favourite players at present.

He's boss. Involved in nearly every goal we've scored. I don't think we could expect very much more for a 6m signing from a relegated team tbh.

Wouldn't worry about the corners, our corner flags are clearly cursed.

I thought he had a good, solid performance today.

Few small defensive mistakes and not good corner delivery but other than that I thought he controlled the midfield offensively really well today especially when we were searching for the lead.

Looks more and more comfortable out there and personally for me he turned the corner and I hope he can continue to play at this level and better.

Made it into my top 3 deservedly.
