funny how people are including Adam in our poor close season transfers. At £8m he's been ****ing good value.

He's had an awful last month. No getting away from that. But it wasn't long ago he played brilliantly against Utd & Chelsea and people were raving. He has created a fair few of our goals this season. But he needs a Lucas or similar to do some of the covering for him. Since Gerrard needs similar, I'm not convinced you can play them both. But with Spearing & Lucas out the options are limited right now. Its needs must.

Buying a rangers reject to play in the heart of our midfield is a transfer failure, irrespective of the fee. He has has some good games and he is a useful player to have in the squad, but he was clearly not bought as a squad player.

'Charlie Adam pulling the strings in a top four side? Sounds crazy but it might just work.' - It doesn't.

          Thats it.
          Charlie's the Scottish Alonso apparently.

Seriously though I think like Carroll, Adam is another recent purchase where the correct research was not done before buying. Charlie was basically bought because of a good 6 months in the PL and his set piece delivery, even if you ignore all his flaws such as positioning and defensive play to name but a few you only have to take a look at his CV before coming here -

          Years Team Apps† (Gls)†
          2000–2009 Rangers 61 (13)
          2004–2005 → Ross County (loan) 11 (2)
          2005–2006 → St. Mirren (loan) 29 (5)
          2009 → Blackpool (loan) 13 (2)
          2009–2011 Blackpool 78 (28)
          2011– Liverpool 22 (2)

That's hardly the resume of a player who belongs at a club with aspirations of winning the title.

No one. Which is their problem. Trouble is there good in all other positions so its not showing up as bad as it is with us.

A lot of positives against city but Adam was again poor. He nearly cost us the game with his inability to track defensively, control the ball and read the game. Shame as he started well this season but I can't see him anywhere near the first team if we're to climb the league and challenge for honours

He looks like he is really lacking in confidence and a bit of fitness too. Seems to be quite slow to react at times

He was excellent, couple of silly challenges in the first half but cut them out in the second and helped dominate them. Brilliant involvement in what led to our first goal aswell.

Easily the worst player for us today. Heavy touches, poor passing and unfathomable decison-making. He's the only player that shoots when an opponent in less than a yard in front of him. Mind-boggling.

Calm down calm down, your making him out to have had a much worse game than what he did. He was ok and contributed to a overall superb team performance. He will get better as the season progresses

He wasn't that good nor he was that bad.

He did ok and though his defensive game needs to improve he did show initiative to influence the game offensively especially in the first half and had decent second half as well.
