It goes back to the Ron Greenwood era. Possibly earlier but I doubt it. Bobby Moore, leader of men, isnt it. Hurst, Peters, FA Cup, Cup Winners Cup, jumpers for goalposts...

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Kean did as well as Alladyce was likely to do (keep them in the division) and developed some players much better. I don't think he looks to be good enough to be a PL manager long term but I actually think he has done a better and more interesting job that Big Sam would have done.

Early in his career Alladyce was capable of innovation and perhaps even making interesting teams. Now he seems stuck in a tedious, almost self parodying rut.
True that Big Sam isn't going to play attractive football or develop players but I think he would have got them more points than Kean so they might not have been in the relegation battle to the extent they were, I'd imagine they would have been mid-table last season had Sam stayed, and would be better off points wise this season.

Aye pretty much what one of the callers last said - I.E. they haven't seen "The West Ham Way" since Greenwood.

I definitely think that this season your point is strong. I guess last seasons case is arguable but I would rather have had the impression the team were trying to play good football and survive than have a few more points from traditional Alladyce fare.

I can see that point but most of the teams that have been promoted in recent years have been the better footballing sides.

                Fair enough,

Also I've 'defended' Allardyce so much I'm starting to feel dirty

                      Blackburn are ****ed.

I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but apparently Kean has a lot of weight, infuence and dirt on the runnings of the club and the Venky's are too scared to give him the tin tack.

According to quite a few Blackburn forum's anyway. Seems to be common knowledge for their fans.

                      They'll go down this season.

What a sorry mess they are in. Kean appears hopeless.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

It is a shame because they're a decent sized club and they've won the PL.

They're sinking very fast at the moment and I can't see Kean turning it around.

                            All Venky's fault

As much as I hate Alladyce he would have them in a better position than Kean who is nearly as far out of his depth as Les Reed

They have also given him hardly any money to spend

                              Les Reed.

Yup, the sacking of Allardyce was madness really. To be fair to the Venky's though, they did give Kean a £5m warchest to sign Kaka & Ronaldinho to push Blackburn into the CL.

I know a Blackburn fan who's a bit of a prick. Love reading his angry rants on facebook. He's very anti Liverpool as well, so I hope the ******s get relegated
