It goes back to the Ron Greenwood era. Possibly earlier but I doubt it. Bobby Moore, leader of men, isnt it. Hurst, Peters, FA Cup, Cup Winners Cup, jumpers for goalposts....
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

True that Big Sam isn't going to play attractive football or develop players but I think he would have got them more points than Kean so they might not have been in the relegation battle to the extent they were, I'd imagine they would have been mid-table last season had Sam stayed, and would be better off points wise this season.Originally posted by dww View PostHonestly not sure it was. I'm not convinced that Kean is the right choice but Sam was never going to part of a club that wanted to progress and make money by developing players. He was also never going to bring any sort of attractive football.
Kean did as well as Alladyce was likely to do (keep them in the division) and developed some players much better. I don't think he looks to be good enough to be a PL manager long term but I actually think he has done a better and more interesting job that Big Sam would have done.
Early in his career Alladyce was capable of innovation and perhaps even making interesting teams. Now he seems stuck in a tedious, almost self parodying rut.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Aye pretty much what one of the callers last said - I.E. they haven't seen "The West Ham Way" since Greenwood.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostIt goes back to the Ron Greenwood era. Exactly. Cannibalism is disgusting and the kind of behaviour much more readily associated with cats.Originally posted by Lee View PostDog cannibalism?

I definitely think that this season your point is strong. I guess last seasons case is arguable but I would rather have had the impression the team were trying to play good football and survive than have a few more points from traditional Alladyce fare.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostTrue that Big Sam isn't going to play attractive football or develop players but I think he would have got them more points than Kean so they might not have been in the relegation battle to the extent they were, I'd imagine they would have been mid-table last season had Sam stayed, and would be better off points wise this season."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I can see that point but most of the teams that have been promoted in recent years have been the better footballing sides.Originally posted by Lee View PostI think when your team is in the Championship you can't be too fussy with the style of play. It's a dog-eat-dog league and probably one of the toughest in Europe. Also I've 'defended' Allardyce so much I'm starting to feel dirty

A poultry sum.Originally posted by Gaz View PostIsn't that where the problem lies though? They gave him a £5m war chest in the summer
Some of these Blackburn fans seem to have delusions of grandeur, they were always going to be bottom half of the table, just so happens they seem to be getting caught up in the relegation scrap early on
Oh I don't know.

Blackburn are ****ed.
I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but apparently Kean has a lot of weight, infuence and dirt on the runnings of the club and the Venky's are too scared to give him the tin tack.
According to quite a few Blackburn forum's anyway. Seems to be common knowledge for their fans.
They'll go down this season.
