Surely the inquest will try and ascertain the facts about what happened and what drove Speed to end it like that. If someone had contacted him on Saturday about a story on him then there must be a record of that somewhere.

I presume that is his lad behind him, who I am sure I read was a red.

This story is so depressing and bizarre.

          Dunno mate,
Could be I suppose, think both sons are in their early teens. Could be just some random lad.

          Devastating

One of his lads is a massive Liverpool fan, loves Stevie. I heard one lad is a talented footballer and the other a boxer
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heard him on the radio saying they had basically grown up together and he couldn't believe what had happened

That along with the Robbie Savage clip are pretty upsetting to watch

                    Still mental

whenever a celebrity or footballer etc, has died, i've never really been that effected by it - obviously there has been some where i have not batted an eyelid and somewhere where i have thought "that's sad, seemed a good guy, rip" etc...

but this one has really stunned - completley out of the blue, top bloke, no-one saw it coming, it's just mental. - I think the fact it's suicide, is just well so hard to grasp.

I know others have died before from suicide, but usually there has been something 'obvious' in it, be it drink/drugs or clear signs of depression - this just seemed to just happen - it's just so hard to get your head round.

Like you, Im not affected as much when famous people die. Its terribly sad, but they never make an impact on you.

Then there is one every now and then, that hits you. Like this one. The suicide leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. Very hard to get my head around it.

                      Desperatly sad.
                      *Except Michael, who died.

People die. It's always very sad.

After the initial surprise though I just think of all the other people who have died who don't elicit the same reaction.

I hope some of the football fans who sing about Hillsborough or Heysel or Munich or those two Leeds fans killed in Istanbul will realise that the tragedy of Gary Speed's death is no more and no less great than the tragedies of those deaths too.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

The people that sing about these tragedy's are not likely to give a hoot about Gary Speed.

Hmm, maybe but I'm not so sure. I mean, there are always people who don't join things up. The kind of people who wailed about Diana and hated the paparazzi for "killing her" yet bought the tabloids before, during and after.
