I agree
But
They need another CB (Varane?) and a proper DM to complete the team. I also fully believe that while Ole has done a decent job getting the spirit into them he is tactically inept and holds them back at the highest level

be surprised is this turns out to be the case as he is about the same height as Jota, maybe a bit taller and about a stone heavier.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

This does seem to be the case alright and it's a huge factor in the premier league. Our midfield could do with a bit of pace imo obviously with a good player attached to that.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostLook I've idea if this sancho lad is as good as the hype. United have had the luxury of pretty much spending whatever on whoever most seasons whereas we've had to sell to buy and try to be shrewd in our signings. You would think at some point United will get it right & with what they've spent in consecutive seasons, they should be fighting for the league. VVD seemingly won't be ready for the start of the season & we just don't know how long it will take for him to get back to his best, Gomez has been so unlucky too so it seems we are once again relying on Matip to stay fit, a brilliant CB imo but just won't stay fit which is so frustrating. If City get Grealish & Kane though and add to that already stacked squad, I just can't see anyone else for the prem, their squad is ridiculous.Last edited by danperkins; 24-07-21, 10:45 AM.

Brilliant player alright but has struggled with injuries since joining Chelsea & we've had enough crocks over the years and in our current squad already imo but he is a quality footballer.Originally posted by Maxiedge View PostI don’t think Sancho would have been a good fit for us but I’m still surprised we didn’t go for Pulisic.

I’d prefer them to buy Grealish and Kane rather than a Lukaku/Martinez or a Sancho/ChiesaOriginally posted by danperkins View PostThis does seem to be the case alright and it's a huge factor in the premier league. We know them and Kane will get injured and Grealish will slow them down. They’ll still thump the ****e teams but they do that anyway

Big time.
I think Kane, goal and assist getter that he is, would slow down their play a hell of a lot compared to a guy like Martinez who will be at the sharp end of things and still work his arse off to close down when his team does not have the ball.
Martinez is, for me, a perfect player to replace Aguero and would go as far as to say he would be a great shout to replace Firmino or at the very least compete with him for a starting berth. Not in the same league as an inform Bobby for linking play but not a million miles behind him either but far more physical, just as hard working and with a few more goals in him.
Same goes for Chiesa over Graelish. Chiesa suits the way City (and us for that matter) plays far more than Grealish imho and Chiesa would offer them something slightly different to their current options whereas Grealish does not bring something dramitically different to what they currently can get out of KDB, Foden or Mahrez.
Course I am hoping City do go get the two English lads because as good as those players can be on their day, I think they will play to what I think is Pep's biggest weakness and that is what appears to be ego with regards to trying to be overly clever and force certain formations/line ups to work at the expense of team balance. The CL final being the most recent example of this.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
