That's also exactly what comes across when you listen to Keane or Neville.

Neville himself admits, they weren't aware of a 'philosophy' or a style of play. That they changed their approach often based on the opponent and that for the most part they just had better players. Obviously that worked for them then but I'm not sure that approach would work so well today.

During the early days of covid lots of old matches were played and I watched one of their supposedly great wins against Juventus in 99.

Some of the ball giveaways from their side was just nonsensical, Neville in particular kept trying to hit 50 yard passes to Andy Cole eith outcome almost always being turning over possession to the juve defender.

Jurgen or Pep would blow a gasket if they saw their RB doing that now.

Gutted, was hoping they would give him a bumper contract

Little Jesse's Manchester United future is in doubt after talks over a new contract collapsed.

The 28-year-old's present deal expires next summer and United hoped to extend the England midfielder's time at Old Trafford following an excellent loan spell at West Ham in the second half of last season.

Lingard opted to stay at Manchester United this season even though six clubs asked about his services, believing manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would provide him with more game time.

Instead, Lingard has started just one game all season, the EFL Cup defeat by West Ham in September. He has also made seven substitute appearances, totalling 76 minutes. It means he has had more game time for England during the current campaign than United, even though he lost his place in Gareth Southgate's squad for the World Cup qualifying victories against Albania and San Marino.

Lingard is one of a number of players left confused by Solskjaer's decision not to give more players a chance as the club look to arrest a terrible run of results, which has included a 5-0 home defeat by Liverpool and a 2-0 loss to Manchester City.

United play Watford in the Premier League on Saturday, Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday and then Chelsea on Sunday, 28 November.

It is understood that under the circumstances, Lingard, who has been with United since he was seven, sees little point in seeking further talks and will hope to secure a loan move in January.

Presumably he'll end up at Newcastle
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It’s pretty funny that they could have easily sold him for 30m+ in the summer, but held onto him, despite having 14 other strikers, ahead of him, and now he’ll leave for free next summer, after doing next to nothing for them all season
          I don't tip

Makes no business sense at all, never going to play for them

SAdly we could be coming to the end of Ole at the wheel.

                      They are dreadful, Hodgson-esque.

Just put the game on ten minutes ago. It's hard to articulate just how bad United are. They have firepower up front but everything else is terrible bar a decent keeper.

One nil down and oles at the wheel ringing around. Might get a result here in the but it'd only be more papering over the cracks.

Might as well enjoy this for all its worth as they're bound to get someone more competent in

Yep the end is nigh. It’s been fun while it lasted but Ole lost control of the wheel quite some time ago.
