That’s what United fans would be saying today. “ Victory gave us a torrid workout unlike Pool “

    Bless their hearts.

Come August 22nd they will wish they were playing Victory again.

Only 26 seconds for Maguire’s first misplaced pass. Next to his own box, missed the fullback straight out for a throw in to Palace. He’s still Utd’s captain.
              Another MASSIVE game

Starting to think they may have a decent season next year.

When I say decent I don't mean pushing City/Liverpool but just not being the mockery of a club we have enjoyed for the last few years,

We can laugh at him but poor from your own fans to do that……. I think there will be no future for him there if that continues…….to be fair he’s out of his depth. Reminds me of Karius post CL final

One difference (apart from never playing in a CL final) being Maguire never did an incredibly cringeworthy video of his pre season work out, showing off his physique instead of keeping his head down

                    Talk about tone deaf

They've just won against a side that had Nathanial Clyne in the centre of defence.

I'm convinced he has some issue with his eyesight.

So much of what he does is like watching a short sighted guy trying to get about after his specs have gone missing.

I agree. Not because of preseason results, that’s irrelevant, but because they are playing a very different brand of football; far more movement and quick passes and look a lot more confident for it.

Yep, they have a proper manager now. Not necessarily a complete world beater, but he's light years ahead of Ole and Ralf, plus the whole club is behind him, which gives him am authority that the prior two didn't have

Not sure how close to top 4 they will get as they have SO many issues to deal with, but they probably will be closer to us in terms of total points

Think they may be a bit more stable and be able to clinch sixth without being harried by the teams below them, maybe even be in with a shot of fighting it out for fifth place.

Think they will be doing well to lose less than ten games though, though last season it was the draws that killed them as the teams around them all lost 10+ games as well.

If Tug Hard does well, by their standards, they might finish in the 60 to 68 point range imo.

The biggest plus for them, imho of course, will be if Ronaldo scurries back to Portugal. Yes he scored goals for them but their playing style was far less defined last season with him than the season before without him.

I am pretty sure if we go back 12 months most of you were all predicting the same. If not worse. Utd had just finished second. Signed. Sancho. Signed Varane. Ronaldo incoming.

They still have a bloated and inbalanced squad. Some massive ticket players now know they are not ETH players. They have not resolved central midfield. They are bringing in players who have not played in the Prem.

In theory they should be a bit better, but I dont see any guarantees. The biggest problem they have is keeping belief in ETH when they go through a bad patch of results which will happen.

We have experienced everything they have over decades. The journey back is a long one.

That said we NEED a more competitive league, if it ends up us vs City about 20 points ahead then the League us effectively decided in the head to head games between us. We need a few more challengers.
