With Quansah, Konate, VVD and Gomez there, we were never going to fork out that type of money for an 18 year old. We just don't do that type of business. Man United on the otherhand just like to spend money although he is meant to be a real talent.

That would be disappointing. I really hope we pull an amazing DM out of the bag.

What’s the bet there is also a release clause so he can head off to Madrid in a few years.

If he was smart he’d ask for a clause saying if ETH gets sacked he can leave for Real

They turned down a good enough bid from United for Brandtwaithe apparently. Now that United have spunked over 50m on that French young fella, wonder will Everton end up accepting less???

They seem to have finally got a plan regarding transfers. It had to happen eventually. More luck on the injury front and they're definitely pushing top 4. Manager is still suspect although 2 trophies in 2 seasons.

I think Ratcliffe is going to have a massive impact on the club. He'll add a positive and intelligent structure to things, I see them being a force again within the next 5 years.

I don't think it'll take 5 years. Two or three consecutive good transfer windows might be all that's required. We're tight on spending and under transition, spurs are spurs, villa won't maintain the level, city have a season of pep and it might start to fall away if he departs. Be interesting to see if arsenal push on.

I think they'll be challenging again before that, my 5 year thing was about them being considered as one of the very top clubs again. I see the entire infrastructure being improved under Ratcliffe, and he'll want them competing with Real Madrid, not just battling for the EPL.

Lol - Unless they sell Harry Maguire this summer, they will have to give him another year - £13m to sit a reserve.
I make no apologies, this is me
