Maybe that's the plan. Get Moyes in on low wages and no compensation, get him to make some unpopular changes, sack him at the end of the season and get a proper manager in.

        Sounds familiar.

I've checked wiki and it seems I am mixing the CL qualifier defeat and the UEFA Cup exit together.

4-2 in the CL qualifier and a 5-1 loss and 1-0 win against Dynamo Bucherest

            2-1 both ties.

Villareal were a good side then, was an unlucky draw.

redcafe convincing themselves that Moyes is 'fergies' choice so it will be great

one poster has come up with a good song

David Moyes is Magic, he wears a tracksuit top

It's funny cos they all thought they'd get a big name and it pisses them off and Evertonians, and weakens both clubs.

However I'll stop short of slagging off his CV cos Brendans is just as blank.

False. Rodgers won his play off final.

I remember them getting all excited after the 5-1 spanking that they'd turn it around at Goodison and they'd have a famous European night. But they went out with a whimper. Then Dinamo finished bottom of their group in the next round.

Totally different scenarios - we're a club that is fairly skint; haven't won anything major for 8 years, nor the title for 20+ years so hiring a young manager with a good philosophy to build us up again isn't that crazy

Compare this against a mega-rich club that are the current champions, have hardly been out of the CL since it's inception & have a huge squad of prima donna footballers - I think it's a huge gamble on someone who is unproven at working at this sort of level & huge pressure that it brings

What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

                        Batman

                        F*** off!!!

IMHO it's Fergie who's picked Moyes.

His continuing role at the club will be a DoF type one, just more hands on than usual. He'll continue to be the manager in all but name and slowly hand over responsibility as he molds Moyes into himself.

The reason they've gone with Moyes is they needed someone willing to swallow his pride and do that.

We're not going to see massive changes. In fact we're barely going to see changes at all. Fergies a control freak and wont let go.

All guess work ofc, but it makes sense.
