It definitely could. The one thing Rodgers had in his favour though was the style of football he was looking to implement was a perfect match for what we were looking to achieve. The same absolutely cannot be said of Moyes and Man United

Don't get me wrong - I don't necessarily rate him and think they could have gone for a much better manager but he's done a solid if not spectacular job for Everton. It's a massive step up for him but no different to Rodgers when he was appointed.

Id much prefer to be laughing about this than not. If he does well Ill be more annoyed they are winning stuff than the egg on my face.

Makes **** all difference. They are successful now and more success under Moyes won't make them any more or any less hateful.

With the backing he'll get there is every chance he might have some success, but even if he does there will always be that doubt that a better qualified manager would still have done better.
