People used to say the same about us and Torres or Gerrard, and now Suarez.

Can't count how many times in the past Everton mates have said to me, "if you didn't have Gerrard" or Suarez, Torres, Reina, Alonso..

He's their stand out player but they were successful before he went there, yes City won the league but United getting Van Persie is no excuse for City to be as **** as they were.

and when he's not there they've got Rooney, Wellbeck, the stinking pea.

We all hope they will have a demise similar to ours, but in reality it's not going to happen.
      We come not to play.

Everton can confirm that it has received bids from Manchester United for two players. Those bids were immediately rejected out of hand as derisory and insulting.

The Club did not make public these details as it was vital Roberto Martinez’s preparations for the opening game of the Premier League season were not disrupted in anyway.

Wow, quite a strong statement there.

This Woodward fella seems a level down from David Gill.

They've lost Fergie and Gill at the same time

Thats a big chunk of their management team gone

Doesnt mean they are going to implode but equally it doesnt mean that everything is going to be plain sailing either

i nodded along to ensure i'd get home ok, then as we approached a reasonable walking distance should i upset him too much i ****ing ripped into him/united/moyes

That's not really the point I was making but feel free to argue whatever you wish.

When your team relies heavily on one player then a single injury changes your season. They do have him and they will do well, very few people are arguing against that. The difference is that teams like City and Chelsea have more robust squads and it therefore seems reasonable to suggest that they will do better much as in previous seasons United etc out performed us when we relied heavily on fewer top quality players.

It wasn't a response to your post per se, but a comment on lots of other posts in the Other Games thread and this thread this weekend.
                          Oh I don't know.

I’ve heard conflicting reports about the United match at the weekend and I was far to drunk to judge for myself.

I know they won handsomely, but did their performance reflect the socreline?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

                              You tell him, Percy.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
