For me the worrying thing about United signing Mata is that they've failed to create chances this year, they get to the edge of the box and have no idea what to do. Right now they usually go out wide to Valencia and he hits the first man about 50 times a game, Mata can go a long way to solving that problem.

What about their other issues? Midfield and defence which need a big overhaul.
      Are we winning?

Of course. That's why they've been successful for the past 10 years or so.

maureen is a clever cunt. he undermines his rivals by loaning out lukaku, then bertrand, now selling mata to maybe hold back the other challengers. not united, obviously.

That's utterly irrelevant to them making a stupid decision now.

He doesn't possess the same qualities as the above bar Coutinho. The team aspect need to be taken into consideration. Would he fit in on the left? Or right? Does he have the stamina to press? Is he tactically aware?

He's quality but we'll need to reshuffle to accommodate him and I don't think we can afford to buy him when we have a problem of balance in midfield.

United are on the slide and its 100% in chelsea's best interest that remains the case. You don't sell them one of the best players in the league who can help them climb the table and get some momentum going.

They are 12 points or more ahead of United so I think they would be taking a calculated gamble on him. They obviously don't really need him.

Overhaul is a bit extreme look at our midfield, if they sign someone like Vidal or Gundogan things would look a hell of a lot better. Either one of those next to Carrick with Mata/Rooney/RVP/Janazaj in front isn't exactly terrible.

Still need a left back and center back for me but they've been linked with plenty.. Garay/Dante/Baines/Coentrao

Did I just read Nige say we didn't need Mata because we already have Coutinho?

I think any team needs Mata, apart from maybe Barca.
                            *Except Michael, who died.

Mata is a top player who can play in any team IMO. He'll be a hit for United and he would be a hit for us. We just can't afford him I think.

Mata is on a different level to Coutinho, and most other player for that matter. Super buy if true..gutted!
