The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Couldn't give a ****. He's a good player but getting on a bit. Or it will be to add a few more quid to his transfer fee.

Shrek has signed a new contract. Meh.

Yep, its great news that. An even bigger chunk of their wage bill going on a player that can't be bothered half the time.

I think he's got them over a barrel and taken full advantage of their issues to get this new contract.

Not fussed in the slightest he's staying there as whilst Moyes is in charge they'll struggle with his prehistoric tactics, I also believe we'll see players wanting to move on this summer with no CL football next season.

                        £300k a week for Rooney

I fancy many a Manc fan wouldn't be bothered if he left tbh

Massively overrated IMO and always has been.

I'd love to see who is on that list and would also love to hear how, in these tough times, they justify their not making a fair contribution to the state

Rooney is their best player, trouble is they're not that good. No player is worth so much obviously. To command such massive wages I think a player has to be special - I don't think Rooney is a top top player, he had the potential to be years ago.

He's definitely reached his peak, it's a dangerous risk unless they intend to sell him
