The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

United's objective should be top four, winning the league (fairly) with that squad would be nigh on impossible! They are at least 8 players short of a title winning side.

                It looks like Paddy Ashdown.

Haven't bothered to check but if true good to hear he hasn't always been 100% successful.
No manager has ever been 100% successful. All have failures on their CV's.

He's still one of the outstanding managers in the game.

But they won't have European football which will be a huge advantage. (as people keep saying about us this year)

Van Gaal would be a very poor choice for them - so i welcome it! He is 62 years old, so it seems like one last big pay to him. If they finish 5th next season, what then? Do they then fire him and appoint another manager?

On the other hand Giggs would also be a poor choice. I hear the press banging on about how Kenny & Pep both made the smooth transition from player to manager. The difference is however is that they were taking over a successful teams. Giggs would be expected to transform the 7th placed team into champions - nobody does that!

I reckon they're best choice for them would be to raid Everton again. Martinez will be a really top-class manager one day - he's nearly there now.

Employing either Van Gaal or Giggs is a lose lose situation for them.

No obviously I overstated it, [Rafa's a good example], but to get Barca near the relegation zone is nonetheless encouraging.

They'll be in contention for a top 4 place next season.
                            Are we winning?

                                3rd place. Worst champions ever.
