Sure, but if they're not infecting the training ground and dressing room then it would only be an issue if the team continued to be ****, which is unlikely with a good manager and money.Originally posted by BigChief View Post
Twit? Who?
The Glazers can't keep the media savvy mafia from making any manager's job untenable via the press. The glue of the Manchester Utd era will quickly become the poo. And I can't fricking wait!

There's always a chance that Giggs and that posse do the business - that's the risk. However it is a long shot and that makes it a huge gamble for the owners and a fairly low risk pisstake opportunity for us.
Still, if he turned around their fortunes around...

I can't say I'd be disappointed with that, it seems that the sensible options are either to appoint Giggs and the class of '92 full time or to get sever all ties and bring in a new man with his own staff. I think what they want is something in the middle, which as you say means the class of '92 will be sniping in the background at the first hint of trouble.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostBut if they don't bow to sentimentality it will inevitably lead to ructions. The 'Co92'
think they ****in own the place and carry on like the Utd Mafia - they will make life hell for LvG or whoever gets it.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

A few papers saying van Gaal has got the job on a two year deal and will be announced at the start of next week.
Quite pleased - obviously a brilliant manager but he was sacked at Bayern after falling out with big name/influential senior figures. The 'class of 92'
will doubtless have had their noses put out of joint, and you can imagine LvG and Ferguson having plenty of fall outs. Let's hope it gets messy.

You're missing the point. Regardless of his lack of experience, if you extrapolate his result as manager over a full season they'll have 114 points and a goal difference of +152. Phil Neville has worked out that should get them back in the Champions League places.Originally posted by paulg View PostSo the clamour is building to replace a manager who didn't have the right experience and was out of his depth, with someone who has no experience and is out of his depth.
Love it.

lvg is not a man who will shirk from a face off, and if necessary will get his bollocks out to prove he is the daddy [sorry Norbs] so there are bound to be a few clashes and the copious spillage of claretOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostA few papers saying van Gaal has got the job on a two year deal and will be announced at the start of next week.

I know the media love the class of 92 and ferguson no doubt wants to bask in the reflected glory of his boys crafted in his own image (he also seems quite taken with bayern model of the old school providing 'continuity' by bitching from the boardroom), but I really don't see Giggs, Butt and **** off Phil having the standing, or quite frankly the balls, to take on a genial sociopath like LvG.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostA few papers saying van Gaal has got the job on a two year deal and will be announced at the start of next week.

Could see the him and Fergie falling out something rotten though.
