Would love it if they spent that money on Di Maria. A half-crocked, half-arsed (albeit talented) player. He's not the Robben LvG is hoping he will become.

Would also love Sunderland to at least draw against manure. 0/1 point from 6 in their easy games.
    One tit for another.

di maria would be brilliant - huge fee/wages blown on a player who, whilst a good player, would not sort any of their issues out....

what will Di Maria bring to the side that Januzaj does?

if they went out and signed Vidal, Hummels and maybe another good defender i'd be worried....

but in a side that already has - rooney/rvp/mata/januzaj/herrera/hernadez/welbeck/nani/valencia - i just don't see how signing Di Maria would help

I'm not sure what to take from this other than Di Maria is overpriced, and incredibly underrated on here He was a very good player for Madrid last season, made huge contribution in midfield.

Not sure he is what they need the most, as their main problem is having no defence and only one good striker that have a decent record of being injured. Di Maria is however better than Rooney, Januzaj, Nani, Valencia and the Japanese fellow I forgot the name of right now, and at least at the level of Mata.

That's with a vastly superior starting X1 and overall squad

I think he's great (underrated on here as you say) and will strengthen them, but if they spend their whole budget on him and don't strengthen in defence and midfield I will be delighted with that.

Di Maria biggest problem is the fact the he constantly gives the ball away to the opponents. I would love to see him at the scum. He will only add to their problems on the pitch....

See Moyes did an interview. No idea if it's been posted.

But anyway, he said he asked Rene Whatshisface to stay in said interview, one of the main things he was roundly criticised for letting him go.

Whatshisface was on radio this morning and was asked if he was indeed asked to stay, he said he was, but that Moyes made it very clear that he would be doing all the jobs Whatshisface had been doing himself, so Whatshisface said he had no choice but to leave.

I don't think it's so much that Di Maria isn't a fantastic player but he's something they already have (to differing extents of effectiveness of course). I think people are reflecting the fact that it doesn't address any of their deficiencies.

I'm not having a pop at di maria - i think he's a very good player but my point being what does he bring to the table? he's just another attacking player in squad that has a lot of attacking options.

He is better than any other attacking player they have in his position bar Mata perhaps, so he will IMO obviously bring something to the table - it just won't do anything at all with their main problem!
