This has the potential to accelerate the demise of United.

Totally unbalanced squad, assembled for a king's ransom with wages to match, and a hugely arrogant manager.

    Dare to dream.

Seriously, they've made right cunts of themselves this window- like they're Newcastle on steds!!
It's amazing, a net spend most clubs on the planet can only dream of, champions a couple of years ago yet I look at them and that squad and just cant make a case for them finishing top 4. Nowhere near the level of us, Chelsea and City and if theres one thing Arsenal are brilliant at it's sneaking that top 4 spot.

Agreed. Worries me though that if it all comes apart, the glazers will sell & some rich sugar daddy will buy the cunts.
        3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Yep. I don't believe Van Gaal is the driving force behind these signings with the exception of Blind, the decisions are I believe being made by the likes of Woodward and other businessmen who know next to nothing about football.

I cant see some rich sugar daddy affording to pay what they would want for the club

I think it will end up being owned by hedge funds and investment houses which means it will be run solely for a profit rather than sporting enterprise

I don't think he had much/any say in the Shaw and Herrera deals but these recent ones are definitely his IMO. He's far too controlling to let anyone dictate to him. He's an egomaniac and a control freak, to think he'd let players be signed against his wishes is fanciful IMO.

Van Gaal is a pernickety dictator. If he's not happy with these signings, then he won't be there much longer. It's his way or the highway.

That leads me to believe that he is happy with these signings, as little sense as it makes. Maybe he's lost the plot?
                Oh I don't know.

                    Exactly.

Rich sugar daddies come in for someone they can grab on the cheap and do up. Villa would be more of the type of target they'd go for.

Utd getting Di Maria and Falcao is like giving some who needs heart surgery, fake tits.

I'm sure he has the final say but what I meant was if you look through his career he's never spent big instead preferring to buy young or out of favour players and develop them.
The signings Utd are making mostly have the same attributes - flashy, expensive, big names being bought out of desperation and they do not match Van Gaal's philosophy. Or perhaps he has lost it

It's a question we often ask ourselves.
