Would be hilarious if they lost their first game with him playing.

edit: oh **** it! and he got injured too! just for the laughs.

My maths is ropey but surely that's works out in excess of £60m per year

      £60m for 4 players FFS.

      Obscene.

      Even for football.

I'm sure at the moment their focus remains on getting their first competitive win of the season.

But but they've proved that you don't need CL football to attract the best players.

All you need is a bottomless pit of cash. Also Dwight Yorke needs a punch in the side of the head.

New England captain Wayne Rooney, 28, has been "awful" for Manchester United this season and should be dropped, says former Red Devils defender Paul Parker. (Eurosport)

Meanwhile, Rooney says he has set his sights on winning over disaffected England fans as well as getting some silverware with the national team. (the Times - subscription required)

Paris St-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi claims Argentina winger Angel Di Maria, 26, wanted to join the Ligue 1 club before his move from Real Madrid to Manchester United. (Daily Mail)

                          Another Paul Parker quote

'As for Wayne Rooney, he's been awful. There he was at Burnley this weekend, supposedly captaining the team - but I saw a player interested only in himself, doing nothing to try and lift his game or inspire his team-mates.

'The only thing in any way remarkable about his performance is that he collects £300,000 a week to play that badly.'

What an absolute cluster **** of a squad. Not sure one of their defenders would make our current match day squad. Shaw probably instead of Enrique. The rest? Doubtful!

Midfielders - going to be some highly paid players who won't even be in the squad

If Falcao gets injured and RVP is/gets injured, it only leaves Rooney. They're weak upfront in depth IMO.
