My feeling with Zlatan is that the quality of the movements he does make and what he offers on the ball make up for his lack of running about. The issue is much more that the rest of the team has to accommodate that lack of movement - some players, like Rooney, seem unable to do that and the structure of the team seems ill suited to doing so.

The Premier League is a hard league to be static in as a forward

I'm also not sure you can carry players these days who dont actively put a shift in

He's a flat track bully. He will get them goals against lesser teams, but when they are up against it in tight games against quality opposition (assuming they have games like this ) then Zlatans not the player ID be looking for. Nor is Rooney for that matter.

Simeone would be yet another appointment that goes against their so-called tradition for "fast attacking football" - the fourth on the spin no less - and as much as I rate Pochettino he's never won anything and would be a(nother) risk imo (albeit they should have gone for him this summer).

We are talking about a cone who has already scored more than Sturridge this season, he has scored 5 times, the same as the rest of the team combined. Not too shabby for a cone.

I don't think he is static, he moves deliberately and intelligently. His positions are good in attacking sense and also he seems to operate a decent block on simple passes for CBs.

Not many players are worth making a exception to a team wide pressing policy but I think Zlatan is. People tend to forget that van Gaal was actually quite successful in the second half of last season deploying a set of interchanging statues.

He scored against City, but I agree against top teams the issue becomes more pronounced. I still think that the lack of any coherent supply line is a bigger issue for them though.

Lovren has scored more than Sturridge this year.

He has scored 4, the same as Etienne Capoue.

He has a massive nose and **** hair.

I expect more from my cones.

The ball came to him while he was standing there... Like a cone (albeit with a sweet right foot)

His first goal against Southampton was very good and that could have been scored against any side.

How we could do with a consistent one of them - we have no issues against the "big" but struggle against the weaker teams.

Hopefully we move away from that now.

Yeah absolutely nothing wrong with a flat track bully. Ibra is the least of their worries, it's everything around him that's ****ed. Interesting to see what team he puts out tonight.
