All that is good, so it's only right to expect clubs to also pay anyone working for them a fair wage.
I agree, I suppose. We are just viewing capitalism played out to its extremes.

I really can't square away the vast amounts of money these guys earn at all. The fact that it originates in a suspicious BT deal and the vast subscriptions these same minimum wage earners pay to watch their teams just exaggerates the level to which it is unfair.

But yes, the absolute least the clubs can do is pay the minimum wage.

Footballers wages are ridiculous, but at the end of they day they're entertainers generating the majority of the income so receiving a proportional amount. Same as any other entertainer, be it musician, actor, TV star etc (whom the minimum wage earner often pays to consume their product). So I generally defend the whole ridiculousness. It makes sens in a stomach turning horrific way. It's capitalism. We've chosen it, for good and bad.

But for it to work everyone involved needs to get a fair wage. If they're screwing over the backstage guys it's clearly not.

What needs to happen is the amount of money to reduce in the game. That means cheaper tickets, cheaper subscriptions, cheaper merchandise. None of this will happen for obvious reasons but is there any other way to reduce the amount of money in the game?

£500k per week is too much for an athlete, I mean, would they be any less hard up if they earned a tenth of that? There are only so many luxury cars and clothes to buy.

I don't necessarily disagree, I just don't get why we only call out certain groups for it.

Because this isn't a CEO or celebrity forum.

No, but it is a forum with general discussion and generally I don't much if any of that, only when it comes to footballers.

How am I talking ****e? You're the one talking about other industries in a football forum (in a Manchester Utd thread!)

The biggest problem for me is the amount agents are siphoning off

Raiola got £41m from an £89m Pogba deal!!!

Barkleys agent got £7m from a £15m deal

I was reading that Joorabchian might have got nearly £30m from the Coutinho sale to Barcelona

The authorities need to limit the amount agents cream off the top of transfers. IF the players wish to pay their agents exorbitant amounts thats their problem but the huge proportions of transfer fees they cream off is shocking
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

                                Good point.

Smacks a bit of corruption doesn’t it. Easy to believe that some of the agents cut could be finding its way back to FIFA officials.

Setting a maximum % on any transfer would seem an easy and smart way to do it.

Its money for old rope as well.
