He's done it just to spite you.

Personally I think he's papering over massive cracks. Yes he doesn't track back or do defensive work but he never has.

IMO the problem lies deeper in the side, the midfield is a horror show & their defence is all over the place. Ronaldo is doing what he was brought in to do which is score goals, behind him the rest of the team is an unorganised mess, partly down to the manager and partly down to them not recruiting n the centre mid imo.

I think what is happening is what a number of us thought would happen, he's getting good numbers on paper, but at the expense of everyone else. Fernandes' numbers have dropped, the likes of Cavani, Greenwood and Rashford are getting fewer minutes and hence their numbers have dropped and their 'system' is get the ball to Ronaldo and hope he does something. When I was saying this stuff in the summer I wasn't expecting it to work out this well As Shaggy says it he's both carrying them and the cause of their downturn in form (in comparison to last season).

Obviously players who are dropped are going to have worse numbers, but he’s scored some significant goals and goals that other strikers they have probably wouldn’t have scored. No way Rashford scores the second last night, or the recent back post volley. And the lack of penalties is probably the biggest reason for Fernandes scoring fewer.

I'm not saying that other players would have been able to score the exact same goal, if they had a different lineup they would likely create different chances and another player might score a different type of goal.

Of course the numbers of players who are dropped will be lower, but if you look at the stats last year they played 61 games and scored 121 goals (1.98 goals per game), so far this year they have played 15 games and scored 27 goals (1.8 goals per game) their numbers as a team have dropped off. This is despite Ronaldo contributing a third of all their goals this season.

They’re ****ing ****e, ****er than last season. This season they’ve concede 1.5 goals per game compared to last years 1.16. The team is even more disfunctional and he’s got them some results from nothing.

Every win they have had has been a last minute goal, or a claw back from 0-2. They have been close to catastrophe on any number of occasions. All evidence points towards the man at the wheel not been capable, yet he seems to be able to avoid all criticism.

He's papering over the cracks but unfortunately he's caused a load more of those cracks in the first place.

Not sure about the last bit. Although the media we quick to bounce on the spurs result as evidence that “they’re back”, there was a lot of criticism after the Liverpool game. And I think it will come back with a vengeance after the Manchester derby.

Players like Bruno Fernandes have struggled compared to last season and the results have dropped off as a result.

Ronaldo's number are in line with what you would have expected of him, but at what cost to the rest of the team?
I'm sure hes made some sort of negative impact, but hes also made positive ones. Fernandes is still playing. Theres no excuse for him scoring less. Its like saying Mane wouldnt have scored all those goals he did with Salah on. The only problem Fernandes has is his negative return in penalties, the diving whinging long faced cunt.

I don't think it's Ronaldo's fault that Ole is a poor manager, the midfield is dreadful as they didn't invest there and that the defence has struggled this season. Yes he's an ego and yes he doesn't track back but he has scored 15 goals in 14 games for club and country so he's doing something right. That's absolutely ridiculous numbers for a guy who is 37 is a few months.
