David de Gea says there have been "too many years without trophies" after Manchester United's Champions League defeat by Atletico Madrid extended their silverware drought to five years.

Good job you take 350k a week from them then or it wouldn't be worth it Eh !! Does he not realise he is part of the problem ( him & others)

Scholes was the same on BT " talking about them needing to change to be league winners again" do they not realise that ship has sailed; Liverpool (prays), City, Chelsea & even Newcastle will win the league before the likes of Man U, Arsenal will ever win it again.

So since Fergie left they've tried Moyes (younger scot, manager to build with = Fail), Van Gaal (Old school experienced hard liner = Fail), Mourinho (Proven winner = Fail), Ole (One of the boys, lives and breeds the club = Fail), Ragnick (To implement a style with the emphasis of bringing young talent through the club = Fail)

All of this while splurging hundreds of millions and assembling the most expensive squad ever. I think they have absolutely no idea what to do but one thing is for certain, they is absolutely try spend their way out of it. Whilst it was nice to see them knocked out of yet another cup, I can't really stomach Athleti.

5Live commentary was excruciating last night.

Inane blather from Waddle and his commentator must have mentioned no away goals about 50 times during the broadcast, it was literally every couple of minutes.

        Twitter didn't approve.

BT Sport was just as bad. Savage yipping like a puppy any time United got into Atletico's half.

Suggesting that Atletico's goal shouldn't have counted because of a foul on Elanga and spent the remainder of the game referencing the foul.

As a neutral his pissing and moaning was glorious to witness

Savage was painfully bad yesterday, he shouldn't be allowed to commentate on a United game if he can't even pretend to be impartial. It is properly off-putting having to listen to him ooh and ahh at every little touch, and his criticism of the ref anytime something goes against United grates so much. Even United losing doesn't make up for his behaviour.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I love that Ronaldo's first instinct is to dive to the ground. Cheating ****

**** me it is dumb and dumber.

Two annoying know nothing pricks with stupid ****ing laughs.

Same two ****wits have spent plenty of time lauding Maguire as a world class defender. Now there is a hint of open criticism onto the bandwagon go the clueless duo.

Double their braincells and you end up with a carrot and a stone sitting in swivel chairs.

He made a right nob of himself yesterday I thought. Juggling the ball at the start of the game, showboating as if it was an exhibition match. Then proceeded to do precisely **** all for the rest of the match
