Thanjk you.

I know there was the serious injury at the WC but, it really was downhill for him after leaving wasn't it?
Definitely.
It's crazy to think that he was here for as long as eight seasons, seems a lot less than that but I suppose he started playing PL football at a very young age and he's now 33.
It's a good article, makes you realise others should get some of the blame, maybe most of it, for his deficiencies.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
Yeah I watched it...he has a fair bit of self belief doesn't he.
I'm mixed about him...he clearly isn't a cunt of a human being tho...whilst I don't look up to him like fowler/carra/gerrard etc...I certain,y don't despise him either...he's an honest, clean living family bloke that puts his career first without thought of what the public will think of him
It's such a shame how it worked out...I loved him...he was ours! He was the best player in Europe...that goal against Argentina....a boy wonder....and yet it all just seemed to fizzle out
Just imagine we're we'd be had he been managed a bit better, he continued his progress, and stayed here..(plus we weren't such a comedy show off the pitch)
A lot of ifs and buts granted....but he could have gone and smashed everything
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
I doubt that. His style of play relied on attributes that his body couldn't maintain. His failure to adapt to being more of a number 10 limited his career after his injuries. I don't buy the stuff about us being responsible for his injuries really.

Why did Stoke sign him? Surely he would have been a financial drain and taking the place of someone who might have been more suited to Pulis's "vision"?
He should have rejoined Liverpool after Real. I hope his management company is going to be passing on advice he has learned from his mistakes rather than decisions.
Suppose so Alex, but it depends on the fee per game really, doesn't it?
Laying into Newcastle now on twitter. Can't copy and paste. But basically saying that the reason he left Newcastle was because he never got offered a new deal. Dispute them putting out in the press that they did.
preferred to play for engerlund than anyone else. he would be injured for newcastle for ages, just come back to fitness and jump at the chance to get another england cap, rather than have a steady return to full match fitness. gets injured again playing for england and spends the rest of the year bleeding newcastle dry...
once he left anfield it was all about him. little ****.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
