Bale has been consistent tbf and he has been instrumental in Spurs having every chance of CL footy next season. Whilst Luis has been sensational it could be argued that we have achieved less as a result of his genius I suppose.

But isn't this a "Player" of the Year award not "most valuable contribution to the team" award. It's no wonder footballers are often classed as absolutely stupid. It's a player award so should go to the best performer. Suarez is by far the standout this year. Bale has had a purple patch of a few months. Suarez has been on it all season

I don't know, I think they're both deserving of it and it's nowhere near as clearcut as all that.

Bale hasn't been consistent all season. If we were looking at performances for the whole of the season, then there can only be one winner; Van Persie was on fire for the first half of the season, much like Bale has been for the latter half - Suarez has been consistently aces all season.

I think it's telling that I was talking to a United supporter at the weekend and I said Suarez was better than Bale and he didn't argue.

The award is pointless yeah, I mean **** me, Scott Parker won it one year and he's ****. But it'd be good to see Suarez get the awards when he clearly deserves them.
