Sure he's had trouble getting into the Dortmund side this season, they are a much better side without him. Squad player, great piece of business for Dortmund. I suppose the huge fee with be recouped as he's an advertising dream in the states, their golden boy and he's a good looking dude too so if worst comes to worst and he flops I think Chelsea will get that money back on marketing no bother.Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostHe wouldn't get in our team.
Talented guy no doubts but for an attacking mid or winger he averages about 4 league goals a season and even less assists, he's still very young though. Simple fact if Hazard leaves they are going to have a nightmare replacing him.Last edited by danperkins; 02-01-19, 02:57 PM.

This kind of thing is really difficult to gauge - there wasn't one of us who would have foreseen the step up in level and impact Mane had on our team. It could be he's ready to make that step up at Chelsea, especially if they look to build around him like they have done with Hazard.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostHe's a decent player, no better than Pedro though.

I think we were waiting to see if he suddenly had a breakthrough season and got 15-20 goals etc to justify the expected fee. He didn't. So as Paul Joyce wrote a few months back the numbers just didn't stack up.
The money they've ended up paying for someone with that few goals/assists, and almost out of contract, isn't looking like great business to be honest.

But Mane had 5 seasons of pretty impressive stats behind him before he moved and every time he moved onto a better club he got better. I think most thought he was a good player, but he has stepped up again.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostThis kind of thing is really difficult to gauge - there wasn't one of us who would have foreseen the step up in level and impact Mane had on our team. I haven't seen anything in Pulisic's figures or the games I have seen to warrant such an inflated fee. I am also doubtful that if they sold Hazard he would be expected to fill his boots, they would get 150m+ and think they would look to bring in a Dybala/Reus etc A more established player._____________________________________

I prefer not to generalise. They're thugs despite being Chelsea supporters, not because of it.Originally posted by S-RED View PostWas muß, das muß.

It's true that their supporter base has gentrified since the roubles flooded in. But having grown up in their heartlands, I can tell you that the culture of their supporters is rotten to the core, and knowing this, that still quite sizable element is unlikely to go anywhere any time soon.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostI prefer not to generalise. I only say this because my cousin supports them and she's top! Also she befriended a few of the Chelsea Pensioners and they were a nice bunch.Originally posted by dom9 View PostIt's true that their supporter base has gentrified since the roubles flooded in.
