I heard that the reason Potter won't be sacked is that they can't afford to, anyone heard similar? Seems he's got pretty good contract and the way Chelsea have spent has left them on the brink. They probably need CL football to sack him but can't reach CL football with him

Edit: Apparently it's a 5 year contract, worth about 10-12 million a year

It's a lot of money, but they've spent hundreds, what a few more on top.

Also, i don't think Potter gets the full whack of his salary in one go, usually some kind of agreement is ironed out, unless he fancies Bogarding the situation.

I just don't think Chelsea are going to get anyone to get them into the CL spots from there, Benitez again, Tuchel again, Pochettino? None of them are attractive to Chelsea, certainly not the middle one.

They can’t yet, there is a buyback clause but it states he needs to complete 2 full seasons at Roma before it is applicable.

Only pre-contract ...which i suppose can be broken, But the lukaku back to chelsea makes no sense for anyone.

Think they’re just waiting for a release clause to come into play at the end of the season.

53 million seems a no brainer fee for him if his wage demands are not stupidly high. Players of his quality you just find room for.
