When we were discussing Lavia as a potential signing for us I mentioned he often chucked himself into heavy challenges and it could easily lead to cards or injury.
I also mentioned that Bajcetic tackles with more finesse, less smash but better timing, so hopefully he will be our 6 and be much less likely to break himself.

Bajcetic tackles like he went to the Xabi Alonso centre for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Who Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too.

You can see it in his play that he favours an interception or block over making a tackle and has a hint of that "if you have to make a tackle, make it, but it means you failed to read the game well enough beforehand" mentality that Alonso had/has.

With that much money, Boehly and Saudi's have really fecked it up. All they had to do was literally follow the FSG blueprint from our prime years. Big Todd even spoke to Henry for goodness sake. Alonso was a crap DM though...

We didnt find consistency in the league until we signed Mascherano to play there.

Alonso wasnt really built for the physical side, and was a much better playmaker.

Thats not to say interception isnt paramount and a tackle is the last refuge of a ****ed up shape/position.

It pains me greatly when we have signed so many midfielders, and none seem to be specialised forcthe dm position.

We never do well without. Since Dalglish left, iur title challanges came with signings of Hamman, Mascherano and Fabinho... those periods without have been utterly dire, league wise.

Endonprobably isnt the answer. Maybe Bajetic is longer term. He is still 19?

We do have players that can fill in, perhaps Gravenberch can convert Macca look too small to me. Dom would be wasted imho.

I think it's fair to say he's a bit ****. Chelsea thought they unearthed a gem because of a couple of preseason goals.

People loved to highlight 'how ****' Nunez was last year, but compared to this donkey he was basically Pele. I'm sure there are some that will still argue he is better.
