    Well they'd be ****ed.

It'd be ****ing years before they got back into the SPL if they went down to SFL3, surely.

NewCo will take over Ibrox though yeah? And it'll then become two entirely different clubs like Wimbledon and MK Dons?
There's an awful lot of mis-information being pumped out by the Main Stream Media (MSM) up here. The main tabloids are full of stories of the impending death of Scottish football if Rangers are demoted(!) to division 1 or division 3. They're wilfully and deliberative misleading those who're daft enough to read their papers. The footballing club that was Rangers are in administration and will soon be liquidated. They'll soon on longer exist yet the MSM are intent on polluting the airwaves and newspapers with the notion that Rangers are somehow being relegated.

Shockingly the BBC have been party to this campaign of misinformation. 5Live appear to be utterly clueless as to what's actually going on and Radio Scotland save for a couple of presenters are toeing the MSM party line.

It's fairly obvious as to what the MSM and in particular the tabloids are up to. Rangers and Celtic sell papers up here. There's an awful lot of sports journalist ****ting themselves at the prospect of being out a job or worse having to go to Central Park on a cold Wednesday to see Cowdenbeath vs Triggers Broom FC.

As for the aforementioned Triggers Broom Rangers it looks as though the 3rd division of the SFL is the place for them.

Charles Green has bought the assets of the club formally known as Glasgow Rangers from the administrators for around £5m. It's his intention to field a football team called Rangers next season who'll play at Ibrox and train and Murray park. That is unless a property developer makes him a decent offer for said assets.

Green's not in this for the love of the club formally known as Glasgow Rangers. He's an asset stripper. The supporters of the club formally known as Glasgow Rangers know this and want him out asap

The whole situation is an utter ****ing shambles.

The most galling thing is that the fans of the club formally known as Glasgow Rangers think they're being hard done by. The SFA haven't even began to punish them for their misdemeanour's over the last decade. We're at this juncture because the owner of the club Craig Whyte put them into administration because the tax man was onto him.

Excellent, that's really well explained and should clear up a few things.

What's the likely outcome of this? Will NewCo end up in SFL1 or SFL3?

        Edit - you've just said SFL3.

It looks like it's not just the media; SPL chief executive and Ray Wilkins sound-a-like Neil Doncaster reckons the end is nigh if Rangers end up in SFL3. Click on his interview that was given before the vote further down and on the left hand side of this page:

Indeed. Doncaster is ahem 'baw deep' in the football club formally known as Glasgow Rangers. He done everything within his power to ensure that this entirely new footballing entity were granted a place at the top table of Scottish football despite the rules governing the game stating that this simply can't happen.

He will be out a job within a fortnight.

They need a majority of SFL teams to agree to allow them to go back in SFL1. 11 out of the 30 have already said they'd oppose it - not looking good is it?

Wonder which soon to be liquidated football club are pushing these stories.

                Fantastic post

Totally agree on the attitude of what once was Rangers supporters. The stance they are taking through this is totally galling (though not unsurprising). The head of the Rangers supporters Union was on the radio yesterday, and he just did not seem to understand at all why this was happening and he felt that the rest of the SPL would deserve the ruin of a league without Rangers.

It's going to be amazing watching them receive their punishment, having had to witness decades of arrogance from the vast majority of their support.

The arrogance of their fans is unbelievable. Listening to them of talk****e they are banging on about how scottish football will fold without them and how people saying the club have cheated on the pitch is wrong as well.

**** off. This only happening to the maces or the bitters would be as funny as this.

I know that Newco want the name of Glasgow Rangesr - but what would happen if somebody approached the liquidators and offers cash for the name?

If you remember a few seasons back when the lubricious talk of Rangers and Celtic joining the English Premier League was at it's height there weren't so many protostations of doom from the MSM in Scotland. In fact the very same people who're now proclaiming the liquidation of Glasgow Rangers to be the death knell of Scottish football were, at the time, proclaiming that Scottish football with Rangers and Celtic plying their trace in England would be in a much stronger position.

No pre season games left after the last ones were cancelled.

                          Pre-Season Tour Off

                          Thu, Jul 5, 2012

THE Rangers Football Club has been informed by the organisers of our pre-season trip to Germany that they can no longer offer us a place on the tour.

The team was due to play three games in Germany between 18-25 July, but the trip will now not take place at their request.

All the Rangers fans I know would rather they started in division 3 rather than division 1. Just because they are so bitter they would rather all the other SPL clubs were ****ed financially without then. Take 3 years to get back up and thus lead to the destruction of all the clubs who dont let them into SPL now
