Hopefully it's because he's not starting. In his 30s, injury problems recently, played 120mins on Sunday, has a club game on Saturday at 12.45pm. Common sense says give him 30mins max though this is Stuart Pearce and England.

I think I'd have had more respect for Pearce if he'd gone with a younger, yet experienced player with a long term vision in mind (I don't know who, I can't be arsed thinking). But to give it to Parker, over Gerrard (club captain, numerous caps etc) is mind-boggling.

Parker is 32 in October, whereas Stevie is 32 in May. The age thing must have been a massive consideration to Pearce.

Barry's had a good season again IMO. You don't play every week for the league leaders if you've had a **** season or you're not very good. I don't really understand the hate for him, he's a good player.

Not a surprise really. Probably the closest to the Pearce mold as there is in that squad.
