Seriously though, my issue is with people who pick and choose when to back the players, rather than support them unconditionally. Not rating a player is different and is fine by me, as is criticism. But abuse and mocking? Just dont get that at all.

I still really don't rate Carroll. I've joked very mildly on here about his horrendous dive (which you posted after immediately talking about whoppers (a term I can only see a compliment). I've posted and thought about his shortcomings as a player. Rather troublingly, I also want him to do well and feel happy when he scores but from time to time I harbour desires to have a laugh at his ponytail or his general appearance. I detest fans like Alex ruining the internet with his drunken antics, scurrilous character assassinations and generally frivolous japing. I share your opinion that the internet should be a place of endless pointless arguments based on the selective, purposeful but outraged misunderstanding of posts. I feel that my Achilles heel is my inadequate vocal support of millionaires who know nothing of my existence. Can you help me be a better fan, maybe even a better man? Or am I a dreaded whopper who should just **** off back to old toilet? Please help!

The commitment has never really been there for me, that has been the biggest issue.

Body language would suggest that, and up until a month ago I was convinced he was hating his time here. But, he's been improving on the pitch, he's appearing to be more happy and let's hope that continues because he could be a hell of an asset.
