      well done to the big'un

although he missed a couple that should have been buried [see Rushie holding his head in his hands] getting the winner should give him the lift and self belief he seems to have been lacking.

Excellent performance from Andy today, worked his arse off, held the ball up, linked play and never went hiding after a couple of missed chances. Matchwinning hero

Delighted for the big man, thoroughly deserved that today, he's had some serious **** off plenty, sadly also from some of our own who think it's ok to abuse and mock him. And the same whoppers have the audacity now to come out with all the 'well done Andy' stuff. Shame he cant count on unconditional support from everyone, but there we go.

            Big Andy

Is it completely necessary to use today's win as a stick to beat other fans with? are you actually saying that those who don't rate Carroll shouldn't be happy for him when he plays well and scores the winner? ****ter players than him have scored winners in big games. You complain about fans taking perverse pleasure in us losing and yet you seem happier to have one over on other fans through some self-important nonsense about being a better fan? So ****in what if some of us don't rate Carroll. It's not like we've sending hate mail to him.

I'm saying it's two-faced to slag someone off and abuse them, then 'cheer them on' when they've done well. Support isnt a part time thing, and what i've described is all very "sing when you're winning".

You've missed my point completely, it's not about not rating him, it's about abusing and mocking him - one of our own. And it's plastic and pathetic.

Craig, why argue after a great win? Get drunk and celebrate mate.

He definitely impressed me. He had a 15 minute period where everything he touched turned to ****, but kept on getting the ball, then the goal came, it was well deserved. I'm not always the hugest supporter of the guy, but I like him, if not as a player but a character. Really hope he can continue in this vein. Still a long way to go, but games like this will give him a lot of confidence.

Saw someone the other week, suggesting that being booed at Newcastle would help him, put an end to any feelings of regret he might've had and helped to ditch the homesickness or wanting to be back among the geordies.

I wonder if there's anything in that. Since the Newcastle game, albeit it's only been 2 matches plus 25 mins as a sub, he's looked like he's gotten rid of whatever was weighing down on his shoulders and turned into a bit of a beast.

I had no doubt he was going to score today after he missed the easier chances. He's a good squaddie. I only hope he sticks it out, the Geordies hate you now Andy, embrace being a Red. We'll love you for trying. Just ****ing TRY!

i dont think anyone could accuse him of not trying

It's another reason why i'll continue to back him so strongly, even when things dont go his way he comes back for more, he puts himself about and he never hides.

I loved him today, I really did. He had effort tattooed on his forehead, and as you know I have been a huge doubter. I loved his post match interview.

I dare say he'll do my nut in again wearing the red shirt, but he's been a match winner two games on the trot and we can't ask anything more of a striker.

That post is cliche a tastic, but I don't ****ing care. I'm drunk and as happy as I've been as a Liverpool fan for a long time
