Of all the traits visible on this forum, patience isn't one of them.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Sky barely mentioned it but Souness was all over the fact that Ivanovic should have seen red. He even got Butch Wilkins to agree with him
I like the way nobody ever argues with Souness
Apart from the fact that he was such a great player and won ****loads he was hard as nails and I dont think many of the pundits who played against him have forgotten that

rumour is he sits in the sky studios wearing his old football boots with his studs sharpened up
He got booked for it. It won't be taken any further
im sure i heard somewhere that uefa have said there is no reason that the fa cannot look at issues retrospectively, even if the incident has been adjudicated on during the game by the referee. not sure when this might be taken up, but the sooner the better. too many cheats getting away with attempted murder.
someone might need to have a litle word with Luis, though

Yep, it's The FA who use this rule, it's not a UEFA rule and other UEFA countries do take retrospective action.

the referee's assessor needs to get the big stick out and beat that daft ****.
There's actually no reason the FA couldn't look into........this whole, 'the ref saw it and dealt with it with a yellow' isn't a law of the game, its the excuse required to not revisit decisions that the authorities feel have been dealt with/can't be arsed.
If an incident is serious enough, and gets enough media attention, it'll be looked at.

I think the reason they only deal with things that the ref hasn't dealt with are so as not to undermine the referee, and while I understand that things have to be taken in context of the match, there are some occasions where they have to accept that the referee got it wrong and correct it. IMO the Essien challenge is one of those occasions.

They could always give the referee a chance to watch the replays and make judgment themselves retrospectively. Likewise with the two yellow cards rule and not being able to appeal that. Ridiculous laws.
Surely no referee alive would be arrogant enough to argue they got a decision like that right, unless of course it was 'wee Scholesy' or a teammate making the tackle.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
