I'm aware of that, but was that not a condition of the sale that the potential buyer had to clear all outstanding debts, in order for the club to move forward?Originally posted by MrMichael View PostThey paid off the debts that were crippling our club

I agree with you on both points.Originally posted by dom9 View PostOK, here is another way of looking at it.
Rodgers needs to generate sales to fund transfers. Carroll represents the most value he is likely to get. Adam, Downing, Aquilani and Cole combined would not generate as much income Carroll on his own. And who would buy them anyway? Getting them off the wage bill is a priority in my eyes. Getting the £20m for Carroll the higher priority.
It doesn't seem FSG blessed BR with tons of funds this summer but I think he came to a realization that he needs few players that he cannot finance unless he sells some of players that he doesn't see as a good fit that have some value like Carroll.
I also think trimming fat is very important and offloading Adam, Downing and Cole should be on top our list as they are bleeding us dry and none of them have any potential to impact our performance next year.
Having them around only reduces our chances of signing someone decent as their wages are literally killing us.
Did you hear Rodgers saying that he has to re-evaluate and rethink about options for Adam, Downing, Aquilani or Cole?Originally posted by cream View PostHow do you know the club aren't trying to offload those ****bags as well?
Well he did say that about Carroll and that started this whole Carroll saga..Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club
