It's also funny in a way because Stevie will get to play under him again, he must be delighted

Hopefully Stevie will call it a day after the Euros. So might Woy actually!

It's incredible how the press this morning are now bigging him up as some cultured manager who has great international pedigree in Switzerland, UAE and Finland and managed Blackburn, Inter and Fulham.

Let's look at the former England manager against the prospective new England manager.

Fabio Capello's England win percentage was higher than Steve McClaren, Sven Goran Erikkson, Kevin Keegan, Glenn Hoddle and Terry Venables.

        Milan
        Serie A (4): 1991–92, 1992–93, 1993–94, 1995–96
        Supercoppa Italiana (3): 1992, 1993, 1994
        UEFA Champions League (1): 1993–94
        European Super Cup (1): 1994
        Coppa Italia Primavera (1): 1984–85

        Roma
        Serie A (1): 2000–01
        Supercoppa Italiana (1): 2001

        Juventus
        Serie A (2): 2004–05, 2005–06 (both revoked)

        Real Madrid
        La Liga (2): 1996–97, 2006–07
        Roy Hodgson's international managerial pedigree:

        Halmstad
        Allsvenskan (2): 1976, 1979

        Malmö FF
        Swedish football champions (2): 1986, 1988
        Allsvenskan (5): 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989
        Svenska Cupen (2): 1985–86, 1988–89

        Inter Milan
UEFA Cup Runner Up (1): 1997

        Copenhagen
        Danish Superliga (1): 2000–01
        Danish Super Cup (1): 2001

        Fulham
UEFA Europa League Runner Up (1): 2010

It just gets more juicy as the day goes by!!!

Former Wimbledon, Spurs and Charlton defender Chris Perry tweets: "I've spoken to a number of players who have played under Roy Hodgson and they all say his training is the best they have had."

Matt Le Tissier somewhat scathing about the appointment of Woy on tallsport just now. The backlash has definitely begun already

England games will be compelling viewing for a while.

James Preston on Twitter: "As a Fulham fan, Hodgson would be perfect for England job. He plays classic English football. Liverpool don't, hence results."
                  Does classic equate to losing?

The FA are nuts to go in this direction! Why don't they make life easier for themselves and go with the fans favourite! Hodgson will be under scrutiny from minute one because nobody wants him!

Barclay on 5Live just now advocating that Woy is being appointed a decade too late
According to Patrick he should have been appointed before Sven.

                        LOL

Apparently the knives are out for him already but all I can see on Twitter is people like Hayward, Winter and many more blowing smoke up his arse and lauding him. It's hilarious.

That England dressing room will eat him up and spit him out. When you consider the standard of the coaches the majority will have played for. Benitez ,Ancellotti, Capello, Ferguson,Wenger,Mourinho,Dalglish et al. They're not gonna want to put up with the Bodge's **** any more than the likes of Agger and Torres did at Anfield when we were saddled with the useless ****. This is utter madness from the FA.
