It's incredible how the press this morning are now bigging him up as some cultured manager who has great international pedigree in Switzerland, UAE and Finland and managed Blackburn, Inter and Fulham.
Let's look at the former England manager against the prospective new England manager.
Fabio Capello's England win percentage was higher than Steve McClaren, Sven Goran Erikkson, Kevin Keegan, Glenn Hoddle and Terry Venables.

This country just loves mediocrity.
roy could only dream of aspiring to mediocrity
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
Former Wimbledon, Spurs and Charlton defender Chris Perry tweets: "I've spoken to a number of players who have played under Roy Hodgson and they all say his training is the best they have had."
James Preston on Twitter: "As a Fulham fan, Hodgson would be perfect for England job. He plays classic English football. Liverpool don't, hence results."
The FA are nuts to go in this direction! Why don't they make life easier for themselves and go with the fans favourite! Hodgson will be under scrutiny from minute one because nobody wants him!
Apparently the knives are out for him already but all I can see on Twitter is people like Hayward, Winter and many more blowing smoke up his arse and lauding him. It's hilarious.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

The journos are just showing what utter buffoons they are

That England dressing room will eat him up and spit him out. When you consider the standard of the coaches the majority will have played for. Benitez ,Ancellotti, Capello, Ferguson,Wenger,Mourinho,Dalglish et al. They're not gonna want to put up with the Bodge's **** any more than the likes of Agger and Torres did at Anfield when we were saddled with the useless ****. This is utter madness from the FA.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.
