    Hodgson on his UAE dismissal

Thats one of my big issues with him, there is always a reason/excuse as to why things haven't worked out for him and it's never his ****ing fault!

At some point you surely have to hold you're hands up and say "my fault, got it wrong".

Not Roy, and whats even more baffling is he has his buddies in the media who literally drool over his every word and do all his PR work for him

Matt Le Tissier has launched a scathing attack on the FA and labelled Roy Hodgson as the "cheap" and the "safe" option.

The West Brom boss is being widely tipped as the next England coach ahead of Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp.

But former Southampton legend and TV pundit Le Tissier doubted both his credentials and playing style.

He said: "I think all the players, all the fans and all the media wanted Harry Redknapp to have the job.

"It seems to me - as an outsider looking on - the FA has gone for someone who's going to do as he's told (and) isn't going to cost anything in terms of compensation."

"It looks to me like it's the cheap option and the safe option - whether or not it's the right option only time will tell."

"There are a whole bunch of issues - if you look at the committee that is selecting the next England manager. One of them, I think I'm right, is (Director of Football Development) Trevor Brooking.

"I think Trevor and Harry had a falling-out many years ago and I'm not sure if that's played a part in one of the reasons why they've decided against going for Harry.

"The FA has not been known for making fantastic choices in the past and seems to have continued that tradition.

"I've never really been excited by Roy Hodgson's teams and I think that's where my reservation stems from. I'd like to see the England team play with a little style and I think that's what the fans want as well."

Meanwhile England's World Cup hat-trick hero Sir Geoff Hurst has added his voice to the criticism as he expressed his surprise Harry Redknapp seems unlikely to get the England job.

Hurst said: "I thought Harry was probably the outstanding candidate at the time because he has had success with Tottenham at a higher level.

"He's been involved in the Champions League and that's been good experience for him.

"What Harry has achieved at Spurs in the last three or four years as been quite remarkable, taking them from almost being relegated into the Champions League as the most attractive side in the country.

"He was the media favourite and the fans' favourite, so it was a bit of a surprise when the FA turned to Roy Hodgson."
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Great thing is, when this all ends in disaster, there will be a huge outcry from the Ingerlund fans wanting a foreign manager with a proven European pedigree, because English managers aren't really that good after all, haha. Then we'll hear how the FA are going to have a root and branch review of their whole setup

(Then when the new foreign manager with a proven European pedigree gets sacked after it all goes wrong in the World Cup in Brazil, Ingerlund fans will cry out for an English manager because the funny speaking foreign fella couldn't communicate in English adequately and didn't get what it is to be the manager of England. Then we'll hear how the FA are going to have a root and branch review of their whole setup)
And round & round it goes

Roy Hodgson is set to start talks with the Football Association on Monday and is expected to be appointed England manager within 48 hours.
The FA says the West Brom manager, 64, is the only person it has approached about succeeding Fabio Capello.
He has already spoken with FA chairman David Bernstein and will meet with the four-man panel.

Redknapp has this sorted. Gets to stay at Spurs in a well paid job. Plus there will be a huge bidding war to get him onside in the summer as a pundit.

I can see it now, he will be smiling from ear to ear when we crash out.

                        They've started on him already

This stuff was strangely absent when he was our boss.

Owls who look like Roy Hodgson
