"You're going down the wrong route there," he said. "Did we play longer balls forward early? Yes, we did. It was a tactical change. We didn't want to play out from the back and invite pressure. But you've just seen us play against Moldova. And if you are prepared, seriously, to stand there and say the England team that I'm coaching can't keep the ball, can't play from the back and through the midfield, there's really no point us having a conversation. Because we totally disagree. You keep your opinion and I'll keep min

I wouldn't bet against you beating them. This is probably the worst England team ever thanks to Roy.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostIf Iceland makes the playoffs, I'm hoping to get England, we'd stand a real chance
I never thought that I would say that a manager is more arrogant than Mourinho but I had wrong. Mourinho only thinks that he is the best manager ever. Roy thinks that he is some kind of God.Stop the cyberhate

"I like a high-tempo passing game"
All the things I’ve always liked are the things Liverpool were famous for in their heyday. Pass and move, always move it quickly and once you lose it get back in to position. That was the mantra which took Liverpool through their great years. I like a high-tempo passing game. I like players to work hard, I like players to get back in position. Those are my principles. I was influenced by the Liverpool team which dominated the 70s with all its great players and playing the football they played.
Oh I say his vision there was lovely

I still remember Hodgson blaming the Liverpool fans for not getting behind him and wondering where was Liverpool's famous support. Of course the media sided with him and it was the big bad Liverpool fans who didn't give a chance to poor ol' Woy and sabotaged his managerial reign here.
**** the FA. **** Hodgson. **** England.

it's so funny - it's great. We all saw it coming from day one with Liverpool - we were in uproar, we saw through his bloated cv, we cringed at everything he said and we spotted his clueless tactics within days
- we rightly boo'd this cunt
, i remember being at a game early on in his tenure and feeling a bit embarrassed when the ground first started to chant "Hodgson for England" for all of about 3 seconds before i found myself joining in.
funny thing is the dickhead probably thought it was a compliment
we got stick from all quarters of the media, for being unfair - we were apparently not giving him a chance cause it wasn't King Kenny

And now look at them all - all the rival fans, media etc - you got what you wanted a ****ing dinosaur in charge, who despite him trying to convince us what a great result the 0-0 was because it means it is englands hands to qualify, doesn't realise that we can see whats coming - negative tactics in two must win games, that guarenteed there is no way will be two wins! - at best i reckon 4 points, more likely will be 2 points.
Somehow, England will scrape through, you just know it, and hodgson will be even more smugger

Love it!Originally posted by Alex View PostI had huge arguments with fans when he took the england job. Some I know are pretty bright and switched on when it comes to sport. All of them thought I was bitter about him from his time with us.
2 of them text me the other night to say I was right.

I've had similar debates although I haven't heard from any of them. Their silence speaks volumes
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

The thing is if we qualify then I think he is right that people will look back more favorably on the result.
Despite him having achieved previously undreamed of levels of tedium in an international I do think that is the wrong criticism. There has been a lot in the press about the fact that in the twitter era you need to be entertaining which I think is wrong - the aim is to win games. The problem is that Roy's tactics don't give us the opportunity to do that enough.
It is amusing to see the bleating of the journalists who were on Capello's case and often campaigned in favour of the Bodge."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
