The press will lap it up. Proper Roy of the rovers stuff this. The only thing that england have going for them with Roy in charge is that they cannot get relegated.

Reliably informed this isn't a negotiating tactic on the FA's part. Roy Hodgson is their No 1 choice to be the next England manager

Hang on! Roy Hodgson for England manager? The FA are barking mad!!
And this quality reply, which I can only fully agree with LOOL

Erm, what? He would be a much better appointment than Harry. I can only hope they take him.|
It's so funny because people ACTUALLY rate him!!!

I can't see Roy Handling any backlash well at all.

If he has a bad tournament or a couple of bad results, he will fall to pieces.

If his time at Anfield proved anything it is that he is not good under pressure in a position where success is a pre-requisite. England will expect at least semi finals. He also only has about 4 weeks to drill his 2 banks of 4, lump ot long footy to the squad. Crouch and or Carroll are a must, Carra could be in for a recall
                  Modifying post.

Well I think crap is a step too far. He's definitely limited and anything but progressive but as it stands there are 10 other managers below him the PL and his record in the PL is for getting the best out average players with a fairly rigid defensive system. obviously he may unravel spectacularly under the eventual pressure but I felt sorry for other managers so I might even feel sorry for him if it happens although I suspect that he's actually a fairly unpleasant character behind the chatty facade so maybe I won't.
