I very much doubt anyone here who's been making Woy comments - me included - would plaster it all over the front page of a national newspaper if we found ourselves in the editor's shoes. It's totally different - it has a huge responsibility. Within reason we can say what we like on a small forum and it affects nothing or nobody outside this place. I'm not offended by what they did but you have to accept it's totally out of order.

Also, it's not like they *just* referred to him as 'Woy' - as The Mirror also did - but said something like "WOY'S TAKING US TO THE EUWOS! GET WEADY FWANCE AND UKWAINE!"

And I'll stick my neck out and say a bit and say I think fewer Liverpool fans would have a problem had it not been the S*n.

But what's the difference between speech impedimants and physical.....er....anomolies, for instance on SKy Gillette soccer saturday you'll often hear jokes about Thommo's nose, ok he doesn't mind, and will have fun with it, bit like Jonathan Ross will with his Non R's, but for kids out there with larger than average noses etc it must be just great to hear jokes about something they can't help.

But. nobody cares.

So big noses, ears, bellies, etc are fair game it seems, feel sorry for Dunc really.

Yes i understand that, Thommo couldn't care less, but maybe kids watching with as i say large noses might have an issue or feel more uncomfortable as a result, but no one complains, then again, if you had a large nose and were offended would you ?

Maybe if you'd seen jokes about big noses when your were little it could have had an effect on you though or offended you, or even caused you to make up other personas in order to truly express yourself.
